In August of 2007, my grandmother, who had been the one to take me to school and was home for me when I got home and then later she lived with us for 8 years, passed away. It was hard, and sometimes hard to explain to those who had grandparents they saw a few times a year, just how hard that loss was.

One person I don't have to explain how hard the loss was is my cousin Steph, who is going through a lot of what I've been going through. Now my other grandma is very sick and may die. She's here with me (she normally lives in Indiana) and everything is on hold while we find out what will happen to her.

It's hard to watch, as I know what she's going through but I also know there's nothing I can really do for her. This is something she has to deal with herself, although I'm there for her as support and a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on. It sucks, though, I know it's not enough.

I hope both my cousin and my grandma find peace. This is so hard.
