Right on! Michelle Obama’s blogging, and I think no matter what your political persuasion you can probably relate to this bit from her inagural post at BlogHer:

And he sees me, his wife, trying to juggle jobs and raise kids; often
feeling like when I’m with the kids, I’m shortchanging work, and when
I’m at work or campaigning, I’m shortchanging the kids. I know you
understand these struggles.

I think all working mothers feel this way at some time or another, and stay at home moms juggle as well- I know when I was a stay at home mom, I felt like when my house was spotlessly clean, I was not spending enough time with the kids and when I played all day with the kids, the house was a disaster. Finding that mythical "balance" is a struggle for all moms.

Perhaps letting go of our "Supermom" mentality is the best bet. Perhaps we should all just accept who we are and just do the best we can. Some people’s best is going to be different from other people’s best.

Anyway, I found it interesting that she struggles with the same things we all do. BlogHer offered the same to Cindy McCain and I hope she takes them up on their offer, I’d love to see what she has to say.
