My fav post is Breaking Down Green Cleaning Products.I'm making my home eco-friendly by recycling, using cloth bags instead of paper/plastic & I switched out the light bulbs

It didn't take me long to find my favorite post–the one about vaccinations. I don't have a child yet and vaccinations are a major concern to me, particularly since I have a number of friends with children some form of autism. I'm amazed about how little we all think about what goes into our childrens' bodies–food and otherwise. But we trust…too much.

My favorite blog post had to be 'Fresh Ways To Improve Self Esteem ', as someone constantly struggling with hers, this was a good and refreshing read. I needed that.
I am still working on making our place more eco-friendly. I've started to recycle more every aluminum can that enters this house. We also use any plastic grocery bags we get as trash can liners. I know I still have a long way in becoming more eco-friendly, but it's a start!

This is a great way to teach kids not only the importance of keeping the house clean but also keeping the environment clean. Two great things.

Join Us! Let’s Get Toxics Out Of Baby Bottles- was the post that really caught my eye. It was very informative and I liked that she is taking action too!
As a family we have take action by recycling, changing out our light bulbs, and buying local organic as much as possible, when we have a house w/ a yard we will have a wonderful garden.

I liked the 50 things I like about myself post.
Got me to thinking about what do I really like about myself.
I am working on becoming green. I think once I win the products, this will be a PERFECT START for my family.
I'm very new to this and HAVE no idea where to start. The prize will be perfect for us. Thank you

I love all of Monica's posts, but my favorite so far is the post on vaccinations. I have been battling with myself and my husband over vaccinating our son. This post gave me some great info and resources to do more research on the matter. Thanks Monica!
I always do what I can to stay green. I do stuff anywhere from recycling and using natural cleaners to bathing with natural products.

I really liked "Healthy Dinners: The Cooking Conundrum" because it mirrors how I cook dinner and how I would LIKE to cook dinner. I love my Crock Pot, but I don't use it as much in the summer and I should!

I'm working my way through the post on mental illness - I have struggled with some pretty severe baby blues since my daughter was born 15 months ago. Last night was the first good night's sleep I've had since then.
In our house, we've started using a mesh bag for shopping trips. I've found I have to leave it in the car once in a while, though, because we run out of paper and plastic bags that we use for other things!

My favorite post was How to Cure a Cold Naturally. What great ideas! I will definetly try "getting pickled" the next time I feel one coming on.
At our house, we are really attempting to get rid of as many toxins as possible by using natural cleaners, buying organic food when possible, and educating ourselves about the ingredients in beauty products.

I would love to try the automatic dish wash ! sounds great!

the vaccination post intrigued me. It's a topic I'd like to know more about before I start having children and need to make such a choice.
In our home we try to be eco-friendly by reducing our trash. We reuse lots of items and we try not to buy prepackaged items especially food products. Just a few small steps, it works for us.

I enjoyed 5 Tips for An Inspired Life. I also read with interest the Depression article. What a time she had getting out of the funk that lead her to drugs. Strong women are out there everywhere.

Fresh Ways To Improve Self Esteem was my favorite post. We are switching to cloth napkins and towels instead of paper and we've switched to CFLs.

My favorite was Momspiration: 24 Quotes that Save the Day because it says it all. As a fairly new mom, I wonder how I am going to make it through the tougher days and I need the inspiration! Thanks for the help!

i was interested in the post about vaccines.
we stopped buying water bottles, and are using dish towels instead of paper towels to be more "green."

I liked 'Breaking Down Green Cleaning Products'.
I use baking soda to scrub my kitchen sink. I clean the hard water scale from my faucets by wrapping them with vinegar-soaked cloths. We have replaced many of our light bulbs with the new energy-efficient ones. Our kitchen scraps and garden clippings are composted

I really liked the post of Tips For Living An Inspired Life. It is so true, if you just let go, you're free.
I only use baking soda and vinegar to clean things in my house now.

I liked a lot of the posts, but the one that stuck out was "Avoiding The Hidden Dangers In Baby Skin Care Products." With a 3 month old (my first) I am super sensitive to anything I put on him or in him, and this post reiterates a lot of what I believe. I really like her blog and I subscribed so I can stay updated with green stuff! Thanks!

My Favorite post is "5 Tips For Living An Inspired Life".
I think to often I tell myself that my ideas are impossible. I'm to pessimistic about so much. I have replaced light bulbs with more energy efficient ones. I also try to reuse plastic bags and water bottles.

My favorite post is "Vaccination: The Other Side of the Debate". this is big for me because I have chosen NOT to continue my 18 month old's vaccines. He had them at 2 months and then again at 4 months but no more. Just about everybody looks down on me for that choice, so it was nice to see someone who understood the risks and dangers of the vaccines. And, to be more eco-friendly we are buying more "green" products, as well as trying to conserve water and drive less.
Posted by: tangie c | June 27th, 2008 11:34 pm |
My favorite post is Vaccinations:The Other Side Of The Debate. I only recently found out about the concerns that so many parents have with the toxins in vaccines. I wish I had known sooner since my daughter has already had all of the "recommended" vaccines up to age 2.
To be more green, we are taking a lot of steps, including using reusable grocery and shopping bags, buying recycled toilet paper, using biodegradable trash bags, not driving as much, and being conscious about what we throw away and whether we really need something before we buy it.

My favorite post is about depression and healthy living. Monica is a wonderful blogger and writer. I enjoy her trasparency and honesty. Great contest. I have this and LOVE the products. I mean love them!!! So count me out of the giveaway, someone new should win this and try these.

5o things I like about myself. I love that she posted this. My first thought was "50! that's a lot. I don't think I have 50 things I like about myself."
I think if I sat down and listed all the things I like about myself I might be surprised at the amount I can come up with. Most people focus on the things they don't like about themselves (me included) and I think this post might help me start shift my thinking.
We use all natural cleaners for the spray type cleaners. I would love to have a completely natural cleaning products for everything.
We also have switched to Stainless Steel water bottles instead of plastic throw away bottles. And use our own grocery bags at the store instead of bringing home plastic.

Love the laundry liquid soap. We only use the water in the shower while we are rinsing, makeing sure to not have it on while we are washing. Saves gallons of water every time you shower.

i like the post "Breaking Down Green Cleaning Products". i am doing my part by trying not to use chemical products whenever possible, thanks for the contest

I love the post on "5 Tips For Living An Inspired Life by Monica". I feel as though she reached out a touched my soul. What related most? "I often searched for the inspirational map that would give me insight on my unique gifts and live more in sync with my passions." Wow. That's all I can say about that.
Also to give a few tips on going green…use a bucket in the shower to catch the water when your turn on/off the faucet and put it under the shower spray if you can work around it. I use this water on my deck garden, veggies, flowers, mini trees, etc. It saves SO much water! Also keep all of your ziplocs, rinse and reuse. Reuse everything and recycling what you can't.

Great giveaway! I liked the post on hand-crafted Waldorf dolls. I am always on the look-out for creative toys for dd and these look wonderful.
In my own home, I use a non-toxic all-purpose cleaner and have started trying to unplug appliances that aren't currently in use.
Thanks!

"Finding Happiness in the Age of Depression" is my favorite. I've struggled with anxiety and depression so this one struck me.
We are using natural cleaning products, fabric shopping bags, use energy efficient bulbs, recycle, etc
Posted by: Kelly | July 1st, 2008 2:36 pm |
I found the Breaking Down Green Products post informative. I use that kind of stuff and didn't know what was in there.
My house is being renovated to be more energy efficient. I just had the oil burner replaced to a fuel efficient gas burning system. Before winter sets in, the house will be insulated and caulked.

I liked finding happiness in the age of depression. This one strikes home in a very Real Way.
We have switched to more energy efficient bulbs throughout our home, have switches to shut off electronics room by room as the kids head out for the day or to bed(no vampire electronics in my house). We are growing our own healthy vegetables and fruits and have started composting.

My favorite post is one of the more recent ones "Finding Happiness in the Age of Depression" It is so easy to feel depressed or get discouraged and it helps to know others are having the same issues.
Its hard to be eco friendly in an apt. I've started using nadmade soap (and have become addicted) and an hoping to find a good handmade shampoo. Luckily the apt has community recycling bins that we can use and I can grow my own herbs on the balcony. I re-use grocery bags to pick up puppy poo as we usually buy groceries in bulk.
