    Work-Life Balance

20dollarbill_4Elizabeth at Career and Kids writes:

I think if I had grown up with a father who brought work home on a
regular basis, I would probably do so myself because I have to fight
that tendency, so, my parents definitely influenced how I perceive work
    and life with kids.

How about you? Did your upbringing influence your thoughts on having a career and kids?

I think it definitely did, in my case. My dad, an accountant, has always brought his work home with him. My mom, a teacher, brought her work home with her. Now I work at home. Coincidence? I think not.

I meant to add that there are some jobs, like teaching, where it may be necessary to bring work home.

Usually, with a job like mine there's no real reason to bring stuff home even though it might be handy.
