CityMama has had some trollish commenter at her site because she doesn’t subscribe to the Gospel of Dr. Sears. I’ve written here before about how the AP movement isn’t my favorite, either. I think good parenting is all about taking all the parenting advice out there in the world and applying what works for your family.
Of course, no matter what you do, there will be some self-righteous mamas out there that will look down their nose at you and point the finger of doom at you. Everyone who has ever written about parenting has run across this at one time or another.
I’m here to tell you, all parents screw up. All parents have done something at some point or another that would qualify as crappy parenting. It’s inevitable. I just have to wonder why we, as mommies, don’t band together instead of pointing fingers at one another. Parenting is tough. Anyone who says it isn’t either doesn’t have children or is completely bats.
Offering gentle advice when you think someone is royally screwing up is one thing. Lambasting someone for choices they have made is something entirely different. Not only will it not have the desired effect of changing that person’s behaviors, but it makes your "side" look like a bunch of jerks.
Consider that, before leaving a snotty comment at someone’s site.

I just loved the part where the trolling commenter wrote, "I do think parents who follow none of it [Dr. Sears' advice]are bad parents". Excuse me while I die laughing! Don't even get me started on the ridiculousness of that statement!

AMEN! I mean seriously we're all different from religion to politics to amount of cellulite on our bodies. To condemn someone because they don't subscribe to your way of thinking is ridiculous. Especially with personal blogs. If you don't agree with it, why tell that person they're horrible? Why not just close the browser or navigate away?

I loved the fact that Aubrey didn't leave a way to contact her.
