    Tummy Troubling Chicken Nuggets

Chicken_nuggets Yesterday I got a call from the health room at my son’s school. He was in there with a bad stomach ache and wanted to come home. The nurse put him on the phone with me so I could talk to him. He sounded like he was really uncomfortable so I told him I would pick him up and bring him home.

The nurse got back on the phone with me and told me that every time the school served chicken nuggets for lunch, the health room was packed with children complaining of stomach aches. Apparently she told my son the same thing. Well….. why do they continue to serve these chicken nuggets???

My son looked a little green in the face and his stomach continued to hurt for awhile. He ended up feeling better after about three hours. This seems about the right amount of time to have felt ill after eating something that does not agree with you.

I am trying to decide if I should say something further to the school about these nuggets. The nurse openly said that nugget day is tummy ache day so I think maybe they should look into these nuggets?? I know my son won’t be buying them anymore!

    Personally,

I would call the school and I would relay the information learned via the school nurse.

Sounds like food poisoning and they can kill a child if he or she is already sick or has a low immune system right now (cold season and all).

Yes, I think I might do that. It sounds like they must be aware of it to some degree but a complaint from a parent might help.

Yeah I would call the school. And make sure to reference the nurse's comment.
