Kathylynn’s post Everything Is Mine, Mine, Mine is a way of life at my house. The main culprit is my middle son. He wants everything his big brother has and also everything his baby brother has. He is three and I am sure it must be hard being both a younger and older brother at this age.
He is a very sweet boy but that does not stop him from taking a toy away from Baby D. It is amusing to watch this because Baby D is not such a baby anymore. He is 15 months and is all about staking his claim too. He will holler and try to grab that toy right back. He realized early on that he must stand up for himself against his two older brothers.
I am enjoying the ever changing dynamics of my sons’ relationships. They are 8, 3 and 15 months and the age differences make for some interesting interactions. All three of them have very strong personalities and are "all boy". Luckily, they love each other in between the fighting.
What Kathylynn’s post really reminded me of was my Christmas shopping. With my middle man Lou and Baby D being close in age, picking out which toy would go to who has become more difficult. A lot of toys are for a broad age range and will appeal to both of them. I finally realized that I just needed to pick one and that it hardly mattered. They will both think it is theirs anyway and the battle will begin. Thank heaven for little boys!
