Yesterday, I wrote about how my son has been sick. I took him back to the doctor and was thinking he might have bronchitis.
To my complete shock, the doctor told me that Lou has pneumonia! I just can’t believe it! How does that happen? Monday the doctor says his lungs are clear and by Friday he has pneumonia?? This must be "walking pneumonia because although he is sick, he is still fairly active.
The doctor prescribed antibiotics and wants to see Lou back in one week. I am sure this will clear up just fine but I am quite nervous anyway. You never know when it comes to pneumonia.
Thanks to all of the well wishers yesterday. I appreciate your comments. Maybe you could take a second to send some get well vibes to Lou again today.

I had that June of last year. I got to the point I couldn't breathe. I was in the ER taking breathing treatments and was slated to be hospitalized. I was pregnant at the time too! They gave me meds and sent me home but I was told to go to the Dr. in two days for a recheck. With the meds, it was already starting to clear up.
Hope he is better soon!!

Wow, pneumonia while pregnant? That would be scary!
Today he finally seems to have improved a bit. Yesterday he had a high fever and horrible hives again. Today, no fever and no hives, just the bad cough. Hopefully this is the beginning of a healthy boy! Thank you!!!

I believe that is what I have had for the last 10 days. I've been on strong antibiotics now for 8 days (the Doc didn't see me just prescribed) and I am just now starting to feel like it might be making a difference. I have never had it this bad in my chest before. Glad you caught it quickly with your son. It's definitely miserable.

Deep breathing exercises are a MUST!
Mom have your child take a deep breath and hold it in for as long as possible then exhale down to your toes, get all that air out. Practice this as many times a day as you can. Oxygen is all that is needed, though it has to come in great quantity, get that oxygen into every cell in your sons body. DO IT!!!

Thank you for the advice. I will try that. We have an appointment tomorrow for a follow up. I am anxious to hear what the doctor has to say.
