How About Just Making It Delicious, Skipping The Deceptive Part?

BroccoliCityMama is right on with her post about Jessica Seinfeld’s new book, Deceptively Delicious. I don’t believe in feeding kids anything different than what the family’s having, and I darn sure don’t believe in hiding veggies in a kid’s food.

I have one picky eater and two very un-picky eaters, but they all seem to get enough vitamins and minerals to be healthy. It’s important to have a good attitude about food and eating yourself in order for your kids to have a healthy attitude about food and eating. I’m a fairly picky eater, myself, being raised on meat and potatoes my whole life. Even so, I always try to eat a wide range of foods, to be the good example for my kids instead of the horrible warning.

And it’s worked out, somehow, even my picky eater likes broccoli, something I have never been able to bring myself to eat. Anyway- go see CityMama’s post, she says everything I would like to say, but way more eloquently.

i love citymama! i'm going to check her site out! ;)

    thanks for the luv, pal.

Thankfully we started my children off from the moment they tasted solids with fruits, veggies, whole grains, etc. I recently posted about my son sneaking an apple when he was supposed to be in bed. The kicker? There was a bowl of Halloween candy right next to the apples. I think the sneaky foods book would be great for people who need to turn their family's diet around, and to increase overall nutrition.
