Forget the old pencil mark on the kitchen door frame. Leave the height chart at the store. There is an even more adorable way to keep track of your little one’s growth that you will actually be able to enjoy down the road. Cause, come on now, who really wants to look at a bunch of little lines on a piece of wood?
A bunch of moms are trying a new style or tracking their children’s growth and I think I might just have to jump on the bandwagon. Instead of simply measuring, they are taking a picture each birthday (or month in the case of newborns) of their child with a certain object. I’ve heard of one mother who did this with her daughter and using her mother’s vintage swimsuit. As a newborn, she laid the suit over the baby, and as she grew the girl actually wore the suit. Some other ideas you could use are beside the pet pooch, sitting on the front porch steps, or wearing a certain hat or pair of shades.
Melissa over at Booby Juice (I know! I love that name too!) took pictures of each of her sons once a month for their first year of life in the same chair with the same adorable teddy bear. You can check out her galleries here and here.
A set of these pictures would make an adorable baby shower gift way on down the road when your little baby is about to have a little baby. Or you can just use it to embarrass the kiddies in front of their prom dates. Sure beats looking at pencil marks on the door frame!
