Thanks, Strollerderby, for turning me on to this. Now, I don’t know if I really would buy these merit badges, since it seems a bit show-offy to me, but I still dig the idea behind them.
Like the title of this post says, I joined Girl Scouts simply because I loved the idea of merit badges. I earned a crapload of them in the time I was in the Girl Scouts, because I thought they were so neat.
The mama merit badges? I think I’ve earned every single one except the Birthday one, because I don’t believe in big, expensive birthday parties. Everything else? I’m so there.
What do you guys think about these mama merit badges? Show-offy or awesome?

Those are friggin' awesome! How about a "my daughter is a princess and hates me" badge or "my mother in law makes fun of my cooking but I still smile at her" badge?

Wow! This a great idea! What mom doesn't deserve a little credit for everthing she does? And I also need the "my daughter is a princess and hates me" one.
