Okay, I’ll admit it. I’m pretty old-school about my cleaning. That is, I use an actual broom to sweep, and an actual mop to mop with. I even get down on my hands and knees and scrub with a rag from time to time to get that "extra clean" floor.
Awhile back, my mother (that’s right, my mother is more hip about cleaning than I am) gave me a Swiffer sweeper. I immediately tossed it in my garage, figuring I knew my broom and mop were the way to go when it came to cleaning.
I wrote about a new cleaning gadget for hard floors over at Curbly, and a commenter said they loved their Swiffer. So I got the Swiffer out and bought some cloths for it. I used it and was semi-impressed.
I found the real benefit of Swiffer when my daughter came home from school. She and my 3 year old fought over who got to use it. The fighting I can do without, but once they decided to take turns, I have the cleanest, most cat-hair free floor that ever was. I should have gotten a Swiffer years ago.
