    When Mama’s Sick

FluOh, man. I’ve spent the last couple of days sick as a dog. Sicker, really, since my dog never seems to catch things like colds and the flu. It was some form of stomach flu, complete with a fever and all the trimmings.

It’s times like these that I totally doubt my ability as a parent. What I would really, really like to do is go in my bedroom and let my 3 year old take care of himself while I sleep and sleep. I know I can’t do that, though, so I slept on the couch all day and turned on Noggin.

When I finally woke up at about 3 o’clock, the poor little guy was asleep on the floor, naked. I had totally failed to feed him lunch. Luckily, he’s enterprising and seemed to have made himself a lunch of crackers and fruit snacks.

When my older kids got home from school, I told them I was going to bed, fend for themselves. They finally woke me up at about 6:30 asking if I was going to do anything about dinner. Bad Mommy called for pizza delivery.

I’m better today, fortunately. Time to clean up the giant mess that was left for me while I was sick. :::sigh:::

How do you deal with being sick? I need a better plan than this.

I am so glad you are better and I'm sorry but I just had to laugh out loud at the thought of your 3 year old asleep on the floor naked. You should have taken a picture and saved it. But you probably did not feel up to it. Anyway, glad to have you back.
