    The Land Of Nod

    Rightnav_imagea_031507
Did you know that Crate and Barrel has their own kid’s store? Yes, it’s called The Land of Nod and they are just as modern and sophisticated as their predecessor but catering to the younger mods of the family.  They have everything from furniture and bedding to toys and gifts.

These super comfy, cute Nod Chairs are on sale for only $99 and just like Crate and Barrel, they carry really cool stuff at really cool prices. They also have an outlet store, called Nods and Ends, that carries discontinued items at phenomenal prices.

One of the newest things to hit retail stores is the ever popular podcast. The Land of Nod will not be leftPeter_2
behind. So every so often they will feature a great artist that you can download  on your MP3 player or computer. Right now, critically acclaimed adult musician and Hollywood composer, Peter Himmelman is featured in the Nodcast Podcast.  He takes his talents and showcases them in a humorous family recording called My Green Kite……

"In “Maybe is a Bad Word,” Himmelman remembers just how annoying the word “maybe” can be when it’s uttered by an adult. In “My Father’s an Accountant.” Himmelman explores the feelings of a kid who has a dad with a boring profession. It’s all done with tongue-in-cheek and a wink and a nudge to the adults, yet with themes that connect with kids of all ages. Of course, Himmelman’s penchant for a good pop hook doesn’t hurt either."

Paul, from Paul’s Ramblings, gives a dad’s point of view of kid’s music and says that it’s good to see an indie artist like Himmelman "provide a happy medium between kids and those of us who still like to think we are hip parents."
